The fact is there has not been panic selling yet... the beginning phases were there today. However, the blow out/flush out has not happened yet. Market action over the last 6-7 weeks has been more of a slow bleed than anything else. The VIX (a measure of panic in the market- layman's terms) did move up above 35 today (I think the high was around 36) but did not reach the 40 mark which is an indicator of panic selling. Also NAZ volume was heavy (2.7M) but not the 3+B we are looking for on bottom day.

1850... intra-day... hell anything is possible in this market.

I think Greenspan would have to cut interest rates at least .50 to have an effect...
