Support Levels. I use charts and T/A to help with decision making. I have found that t/a works best for market indexes.
So here is my prediction of where we will bottom...historically, they tend to go a few points below what I see. Anyway-worst case, but I expect it:
Nasdaq Comp: around 1980-2000
S&P: 1175-1180

And thats one h--l of a bear.

Problem is also that alot of brokers have large losses in their own portfolios, and their 401K's are down because their brokerage's stock is down. They are as worried about their diminished weekly paychecks due to lack of account activity as much as anything. So lots are hurting in more ways than one. K.
