SIer formerly known as Joe B., [what do your friends call you for short? :)], I keep favorites folders on the links bar, which is the same size as the address bar.

To make the links bar visible VIEW>TOOLBARS>LINKS
Then use FAVORITES>ORGANIZE FAVORITES to move stuff there.
You can also drag the address you're on to the links bar, then rightclick and give it a real short name [to save space]. I have 99% of the stuff I use on the links bar.

Favorites, to create the Windows Favorites folder is to install it on the taskbar by right clicking and adding toolbar and follow the path and you will have the Windows Favorites on your task bar.All you have to do is close it up on whatever side you put it on and just the word Favorites will show in a 3/4" Radio button.Click on the 2 (>>) to the right of the Favorites button and your drop down menu will appear.
