OT: Actually, shortage in the labor pool was a major factor in raising inflation concerns and, consequently, interest rates. Maybe an alternative to raising rates would have been to relax the policy on H1B visas and allow our country's talent pool to grow while at the same time easing inflationary pressures. If we did that, who knows? We might even figure out how to enjoy phenomenal growth in a non-inflationary environment. Naaahhh, better to ship our jobs overseas while we raise our interest rates than let people come help us improve our country's competitiveness and economy as well.

It seems to be a common belief that prior generations of immigrants are the only ones who have a right to live and work here.
