They opened the doors too wide in a period of unusual prosperity. In fact, so wide, that nuclear secrets are leaking out...don't forget those recent incidents.

I hope you're not referring to the shameful persecution and nine-month solitary confinement of Wen Ho Lee at Los Alamos National Labs. Nine months in solitary confinement, and he was judged innocent!

Do you really believe that these "high-tech coolies" are treated fairly, or in your own words, that the doors have been "opened... too wide" to them? Nonsense. According to a group of Asian Americans at Livermore Labs quoted in Science Magazine (Vol 290, p. 1074), "the average salary of an Asian-American physics Ph.D at the lab is as much as $12,000 a year below that of other physics Ph.D.s... The salary discrepancies increase with the length of service, and the inequities have changed little over the past decade."

Slade Gorton was mentioned as a possibility for Attorney General on the local Seattle news last night...

Now wouldn't that be fun.

OT Hi Dan, RE: "Bottom line is American jobs come first, when the going gets tough. Congress which represents Americans"

For the good of people's long-term wealth/health, I believe American corporations have to come first, when the going gets tough, so that our corporations can build a healthy economy for all citizens (employees, individuals/families/children, retirees, investors) to enjoy. Healthy companies build their businesses, grow profits, and provide jobs for fueling even more growth.

American jobs/employees need to be world-wide competitive. If we weren't competitive, the positions would erode.

Congress doesn't fuel America's growth, but rather, business profits fuel America's growth.

Best regards,
Amy J
