Les Paul to Receive Grammy Award

The National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences has announced that
guitar pioneer Les Paul will receive a Grammy Award at this year’s
ceremony. Les is best known for creating the solid-body electric guitar
model, which Gibson produced and named after him. He also invented the
eight-track recorder, electronic reverberation effect and the overdubbing
recording technique. Paul, who still performs regularly, will receive the
2001 Technology Grammy for his contribution to modern recording.

The 43rd Annual Grammy Awards will air February 21 on CBS Televisi
