Hi Patrick,

Been busy X-mas shopping...crowds, traffic...yikes!!!

FWIW...HGSI & MLNM might be interesting on the darkside as they could be forming a right shoulder of an H&S top.

IMCL and ONXX might be worth a spot on a watch list, as they're supposed to be applying for FDA approval around now. ARIA might spin Victor's presentation @ Keystone, as they did last year...he talked about an in vivo model of insulin storage/release system (really cool stuff, and was published in Science a couple months later, and they had a press release announcing his talk), my guess is this year he'll do a follow up on how his mice are doing...BWDIK?

I'm not sure if I'll be around to play them, as I'll be visiting my folks & hopefully snowboarding : )

Best of Luck,

WHG?

FWIW...My girlfriend got a refurbished workstation with a dual processor from Dell, that seems to be working well, and is faster than beans...unfortunately it is not hooked up to the internet...@least @ the moment ; )

Pat,

Feeling better today. Have considered a beta filter but many stocks don't have beta ratings with many data vendors. So what I do is use The BigEasy avg daily range and with a spreadsheet, divide the range by the price to yield a % volatility, then eliminate the <5% part of the list. Since their's is calculated on recent (less than 2 weeks) movement, stocks that have tanked hard or entered orbit top the list. It does do the job, which is eliminate stocks that make me drowsy. RSI is a good idea, although I doubt BigE relates it to any indexes.

I use a PII400 w/ 96 RAM.. will top it to 256 shortly, but it runs RQ fine. As always, considering the seriousness of what we do, you trading/analysis apps really shouldn't be sharing space with Aol, ICQ,... etc.

Later..

Rashid
