Bush has picked a Treasury Secretary who worked with AG in the federal government and was a CEO hired by a Board that included AG. They have met regularly over the years. Be careful about underestimating Bush on this. He knows how to get his way in politics and he knows how to compromise.

To Amy and Mary,

I read your posts. I don't much about I judge with the horse sense and memory. Based on what I see, this may not be a down turn, but a mini-cycle! This is how AG always meant to do things! An economy that consists of mini-cycles. A short up-swong and a than a landing and then up we go. I take it that we will take off again in 2001 seeing several cuts, and then in 2002 the Feds began to tighten money policy again! Now I know I talk like a book and this is not how the things work, but I hope I have driven the point!
