..."do the math"... Actually, I didn't do the math. Working in the computer field, I realized that the world desperately needed some method of allowing different computers to communicate. I also felt that anyone who cracked this nut would become profoundly wealthy. I wanted to invest in a company engaged in this business. When CSCO became public in early 1990, I was put off by the apparent high price, and didn't nibble until March. Even then, I held my nose as I entered the buy order.
