The Nasdaq growth rate has averaged 20% per year going back to 1989 (as far as my data goes) including a recession and only going up to the end of 1998. I excluded the blowoff of 1999 to get a more realistic estimate of long term growth. Projecting that long term growth off of the beginning of 1989 forward and you have to assume that the Fed will step in to avoid economic catastrophe, you've got to figure the Nasdaq is still worth 3680 and its trading at 2300. Seems like a bargain to me but how much of a bargain do you need to get buyers to step up? Thats a 37.5% discount. BWDIK.
