i'm not sure how strong they have been this year....selective markets will remain strong, but there has been some large scale layoffs this year in non tech areas...

i think the real economy has been weak since 1997....even earnings of many large caps would not have been so great if you exclude investment income....

still i believe we are seeing a bottoming in the market...not paying any attention to the indices...more specific issues...high pe's still will be sold off on down days, more so then low pe's...
