SNE a winner!........Thirteen kids ages 9 to 15 tested the PS2 by playing "E"-rated PS2 games ranging from snowboarding and racing to sports. They also played an action-shooting-strategy puzzle game that Sony claimed "takes full advantage of the graphic capabilities of the PS2." No Mario-Sonic-Crash-type of action-adventure game was available for PS2 at the time of our test. And "Time Splitters" and "Dragon Warriors 2" had "T" ratings (not recommended for kids under 13), so they weren’t used in the test.

Each kid played on the PS2 for an hour or more. A few testers tried the games in two-player mode. Then kids rated each of the five games they played on a scale of 1 (poor) to 5 (great), and compared them to similar games for N64, PlayStation, and Dreamcast. Finally, they gave the system itself an overall fun rating.[consumerreports]
