Well let's take a look at the slowdown in capex spending. Most telephone, ISP, CLEC companies plans to spend around the same as last year, so it's a slowdown in the rate of growth in spending. Given LU's announcement that they expect a 20% reduction in US sales, that comes to nearly $2B next quarter. NT expecting less optical growth than previously announced, SCMR claims a slowdown in sales. OTOH, CSCO claims sales growth of 50-60%. Sounds like CSCO is taking market shares from LU, NT, and some of the former high-flying startups.knc
