I try to keep emotions out of investment decisions and feel that greed and anxiety interfere with rational investment.

However, the market is irrational, and IMO, has provided us with an investment opportunity that anxiety prevents me from taking. The BTB numbers are still good, and, historically, AMAT has gained market share during down cycles. No earning warnings have been posted and the larger wafer seems inevitably to become the standard. The economy should put pressure on the manufacturers to lower unit costs, and the larger wafer will accomplish that. I still feel that new digital products are coming out and will require chips. There are part shortages for Palm and Sony Playstations. Also, Microsoft is coming out with their product. Digital cameras are also becoming standard, so we're no longer dependent on the PC.

We'll turn around, and fear will prevent me, and others, from capitalizing.
