What I take away from all this is that I don't have the energy to go through what we went through this year. I'm tinkering with the idea of just buying a basket of funds.

I completely agree with your portfolio allocation thoughts and your thoughts about next year being good. To that I'd add that fundamentals will be more important than before and stocks with pie-in-the-sky business plans will be punished if they ever get funded at all.

Greg, your dumb bell analogy is a good one re: new economy vs old. I think your right about next year as well. The right stocks up 50%. ORCL, QCOM, NTAP? what else? Don't really know what to think about the telecom equipment suppliers like CSCO,GLW, JDSU, and CIEN. Is the capital spending slowdown already in the stocks, especially after the last week?
