I don't think I necessarily disagree with you about being open minded, it's just statements like "never" and "always" are themselves rather dogmatic. Are you saying everyone "should never be dogmatic or close-minded" and "should always welcome new information" except when it applies to the axiom of open mindedness? If yes, then is it sometimes OK to not be open minded about being open minded? If the answer is no then is it not self-defeating to dogmatically assert that one should never be dogmatic? Just a thought.
