pinhi, your reference to business plans and teenage kids reminds me of my time at a large financial institution. There were many people who saw the Internet coming -- most of them were so young as to be inexperienced in business. Most of them pleaded with management to get on the Web. For a long time, management turned a deaf ear. By the time action was required, management was trapped by its own inaction, and everything had to be done overnight lest they appeared to "not be on the ball." The "kids" didn't know enough about business to put together a good business model, and management didn't know enough about the Web to know how to really understand how it was used and what people needed. So there was a disconnect. This happened in many places, and has to take some of the blame for the poor business models that were put into place.

<<once the promise of broadband becomes a reality>>

Dollar DSL days are here and won't last for long... Think there are some great plays in DSL.

Next month a big push will be on by the large telecoms like T,WCOM,FON.... Bells will keep moving as well.

The question: Who will be the winners?

Keith

re: The applications came out before the highway was really ready.

They where set lock and ready to do it on a fast track, but NO, greenspam didn't let it happen he was too busy handing the new economy back to the old. Foolish. I was walking around this time last year, looking at all the activity in the network area and all the cash that was readily available to spend big time on the roll out, thinking that broadband was going to be the next big think that would support the continuation of the internet time and all the rapid innovation that was happening. Sadly now the broadband for the masses is years away.
