You hit the nail on the head
Everthing has changed radically in the investment community.
There are numerous private companies that do well. Many of these were taken public or bought out because of their track record. Now too many go public to get dollars from the public to cover the cost of the upfront investors who disappear shortly after the IPO and ninety day holding. You do have a few that make it but the short term gain is usually much greater to the seed money that the new public individual investor end up with.
It is understandable you take a high risk for a return but it short term all to often. Woe to the fund managers in this new era that have to herd elephants all over the place in a fast furious manner to make a buck.
