PS Whoops. As I read more details I see the WSJ got the issue wrong. It was not a forced access issue. I believe it's the 99-238 issue that SBC was fighting with the FCC on. Very briefly 99-238 says, "If you run packet service to the remote terminal, you don't have to give competitors a free ride on it." But the details are as fuzzy as a Florida election. See this url for more details than you want to know: Message 13206558 ...If 99-238 holds, then other incumbents will be eager to take advantage of the groundwork SBC laid. SBC says it's going ahead with NGDLC rollouts finally. Started in September 2000(after a one year delay). Now what's most interesting--Wonder what agreement they came too?? -MikeM(From Florida)

Once again, IMO if they build it, they own it. Yassuh, that's right. . If the FCC would just understand this simple idea, it's off to the broadband races No suh, it ain't dat simpel.
