Ian,

That is perhaps the best and most concise explanation of paper gains in quality tech stocks I have seen.

My wife and I recently lost alot of weight on something called the zone diet. We wondered where all the weight went. Was the world a lighter place. After all it was 70lbs gone, hopefully for good. Well then her sister visited us one weekend from Minnesota. We got a good look at where it went. It wasnt a pleasant sight.
I think the loss of this wealth creates better investors but more importantly better people. Last year I thought I was a f......g genius, this year I am happy to be alive. And again I promise myself that i will never let this happen to me again. But its like the weight, we are human--we love to eat and I suspect when that smug Jim Something's new book comes out "Nasdaq 20,000" I will be quoting it here.
Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukah to all.
