you keep talking about short covering. But there just aren't enough shorts to cause the type of rally you are expecting. Most shorts are in and out- they take their profits and cover quickly. They don't go short and sit there for two months waiting to get caught up in a mkt rally.

And most shorts do more homework and research than longs will ever do.

A .25 cut by the fed will be good for an 80-pt nasdaq pop and then dreadful mkt boredom, imo. By the time a cut comes, it will be priced in already. And mo-mo traders have gone back to 9to5 jobs. nasdaq will be aimlessly adrift, becalmed, for the next 3-4 mos, imo.
