Clinton's procurers seem to have seriously misjudged Ms. Jones' ambitions and inclinations. Clinton didn't really care who showed up, as long as she was willing, and assumed that whoever did show up was willing. Bad mistake. But there was a case here in Fairfax where a young woman went backstage after a Red Hot Chili Peppers concert and was all freaked out because Anthony Keidis asked her for a blow job. If she knew anything about the Red Hot Chili Peppers, she wouldn't have been freaked out, and if she was a groupie, she would have been flattered. There are just different sets of assumptions going on here. Paula Jones was willing to let it slide until the Clintons started savaging her, which was unfortunate but part and parcel of their MO. As for Juanita Broderick, that one seems to be way too far over the line, but the time lag was so long . . . . If she had gone to the police immediately, maybe the world would be a better place. You have to wonder, why did she wait so long to come forward? It's like Anita Hill. If she was so traumatized, why didn't she say something at the time? Why did she keep working for the guy? It doesn't hang together. I think you need to judge Juanita Broderick by the same standard we judge Anita Hill. Why did she take so long to come forward? Why is she coming forward now? That said, Juanita Broderick's story hangs together better than Anita Hill's. But a criminal prosecutor wouldn't prosecute based on her unsubstantiated allegations years after the fact.
