HDI.com: -
chart 1 - 6 months of Harley Davison: siliconinvestor.com makes HDI look like a dot.bomb. what the hell happened.
chart 2: 3 1/2 years: siliconinvestor.com shows major support 32-35, and if breaks that, huge support in 27 area.
I think i know what the problem is. internet advertising. the market is afraid bikers wouldn't be able to afford tattoos anymore and the whole cult will dry up. no more harley hogs, the bikes will now politically correctly be called harley motorcycles. no more biker chicks, the ladies riding the bikes will all have manicured nails. and the bikers themselves will all be clean shaven, stop wearing leathers in support of anti-animal testing movement, and put in noise suppression mufflers so they don't disturb anyone when they go out for their sunday ride.
oh, and one more thing. They will change their motto to "ride free or cry" I just checked the harley website (http://www.harley-davidson.com/products/products.asp) there is hope!!! there is now a Harley Barbie ornament: roadstore.harley-davidson.com
(ps, to any and all biker buddies out there, j/k) larry

Starbreak, I'll share this secret with you regarding the question if you should buy HDI now, or when, and what my opinion is. ***** You are just as capable as anyone on this board or wall-street to try and time your purchase!!! *** I am serious. No one knows. Investing is analysis on the fundamentals of a company, and doing your best to pick your spot. Just ask anyone here how they have done timing their purchase decisions---me included! So, if you think HDI is a quality company that will be higher in price by spring, just buy. Ask youself this, however, " will I be able to sleep at night if the stock loses 10%, 20% before spring and will I have the staying power or will I get shaken out and sell" In the end we all must live with our decisions, except mutual fund investors who can blame management for their decisions. One concept I use to lessen the impact of a poor timing decision is scaling into a position over time. Its sort of like dollar cost averaging into a fund.
Good luck, and I do like HDI fundamentally and think you have a reasonable chance to see the stock higher by Spring.
