Not very familiar with "Max Pain", but my experience has taught me that when I try to guess what direction the market or an individual stock is going in the short term I usually am wrong. I think that there may be something to manipulation theories around option strike points, but I give up on betting on them. I have seen the market in the past several months go so contrary to expectation, that I'm just holding and waiting for it to come back to it's senses (as we had irrational exuberance going up, I feel that we have equally irrational despair to the downside).

As for QCOM, I don't know of many better long term prospects, so I'm just holding mine. I'll bet that it's much higher 2 or 3 years from now than it is now.

Damn! Look at BRCD

. . . . I called the bottom. It split today and has now shot up 14. Whew! That is a major move. I should follow my own analysis sometimes. That's why I'm posting this message to myself.
