OT: NSM

You are right. NSM doesn't have good pricing power. They make a lot of base chips, mostly from the acquisition of Fairchild Semiconductor. They will hurt badly from a slowdown in PC production, and the channel is stuffed pretty full at the moment. While they do have a (8 inch I believe) high tech fab in Maine making CPU's (unless they sold it in the last 2 years), it is right next to a Fairchild fab making simple chips on 4 inch wafers. Additionally the CPU Fab was having a very difficult time trying to catch up with Intel on clock speeds when I worked there.

Bottom line is there are much better choices in this environment than NSM.

Now I suppose I'll get slammed by the NSM stockholders! :o)
