I'm not sure what you mean here... Even with the same interconnect material, smaller feature size is better. Sure, there are some properties that deteriorate with smaller sizes (e.g. resistance), but it is not clear that AMD is seeing any real benefit from copper at .18mu. They may be - hell, I'll go as far as saying they likely are - but there is no conclusive evidence either way.
