Neither, he is still a "Pinciple" at Needam... I suspect that he just got tired of having to publish and the consequent obligations against the timely taking of positions in the companies that he likes. Maybe he will inform us as to what really happened.

He made an amazingly unpopular (but astonishingly prescient -- I think I'm going to refer to Tad as the Kwisatz Haderach from now on) call in the semi/cpu market. Almost immediately thereafter, he stopped doing analysis for this market and the firm's position on the stocks was promptly reversed.

Yeah, he might be making more money, and he might have a higher "rank" or something, but I consider this a sort of demotion.
