That is only because I agree with you.

As soon as I disagree with you you will think of a name for me- even though I KNOW you would be too polite to use it (or maybe I'm just projecting :-) because that's what I do!)

My problem with environmental regulations is they hurt the small businessman so much more than the big one.
A little guy spills an ounce or two of oil from time to time, and ends up going out of business. Chevron flushes a tanker too close to shore, destroys a marsh, and gets a fine which only slightly increases their cost of doing business.

... Mezz - "The law, in its majestic equality, forbids the rich as well as the poor to sleep under bridges, to beg in the streets, and to steal bread."
-- Anatole France

true arrogant bureaucrats

I can see that my recent success in elevating your assessment of bureaucrats was short lived. :)

personally, i do not think you are a liberal.

Geez, today has been one of those really strange days. First Daniel tells me that William Raspberry is not a liberal. Now you're telling me that X is not a liberal, the very X who calls herself a liberal and says things like "Now that simply means you and I will be helping to pay for the cleanup- but since we all benefit from cleaning up the environment- that is probably fair."

To top it all off, Poet says it's ok for you and me to engage in debates on this thread because "I'd expect them among liberals." Now, I'm pretty positive you're not a liberal and I absolutely positive that I'm not a liberal.

I feel like I'm in the twilight zone.

In my post to you about us not debating, I was just trying to be a good thread citizen and follow thread protocol, as I understood it, that we, a couple of non-liberals, should take that discussion (your challenge of big government, in general, and the EPA, in particular) elsewhere. Sorry I ruffled your feathers in the process. I guess I still don't understand thread rules.

Karen

P.S. I'm glad X gave you a satisfactory answer to your question.
