Hi Ken - I ve no idea. I think Dell O'ro is probably a better source for outsiders like us. However, I think you are right about the one stop shop strategy. Also, don't forget NT is driving the 10G Ethernet solution. If she has an upgrade path for the customers, it is a very attractive proposition for the latter to scale the entreprise.

best, Bosco

Nortel Networks Nearly Doubles Market Share in Layer3 Modular Ethernet Switching

[I'm surprised NT issuing a press release, but doesn't quote some specific numbers in it. Following is the recent release from Dell'Oro. Don't know if NT was referencing this particular 3Q00 release or some latest yet to be published numbers.]

[Anyway, if NT gains share, surely someone must be losing share. FDRY perhaps, but yet the report shows FDRY growing faster? FDRY preannounced shortfall and blamed it on telecom spending cuts, which rippled fears throughout the telecom industry and whacked our beloved NT and CSCO the other day. It was significant because analyst was pointing to FDRY as the first company to confirm weakness in internet infrastructure spending, which includes fiber optics and data networking products. However, if it was truly that FDRY was losing share, then the sell off recently was way overblown. Hmm]
