PW, your SODIMM definition is probably wrong because you're not old. :) Yep, I've recommended crucial.com before. DRAM is really cheap now. Spent about $130 for 128MB laptop memory a few months ago. It's probably half that now.

Try this: right click on the swap file meter and check from properties how often it updates. This can be set from 1 second to 1 week. There are some other thresholds also.

hi pw

congrats on the increased mem, and the good price.

regarding the norton desktop sensors...

if these are sensors that you've had displayed all along, and they have been performing okay, perhaps now their zero readings indicate that they need to be reset. to do this, right click on the desired sensor and select 'reset'. also, choosing 'properties' will give you some options to play with. choosing 'what's this' provides some limited info on each sensor. 'sensor information' provides much more.

in addition, selecting 'view', 'options', 'active sensors' shows you the whole gamut of available and active sensors.

if reset doesn't alter things, let us know. my sensors are a bit different in win2000, but i will still try to assist.

:)

PW,

A SODIMM stands for... Small Outline Dual Inline Memory Module. They're used exclusively in modern laptos. Much more expensive than PC SDRAM, but the size constraint is an issue.
