I don't know about that. I can't remember that happening- our oldest is a girl- and she is kind of an enabler in the fairy tale department- in fact she tended to create MORE rather than less mythology.

I think 5 year olds probably need to hear about Santa from an older kid- they will for sure hear it in kindergarten- and you don't want your kid to be the last to know. And if your son tells her YOU don't have to- if you told her she would believe it more than if he tells her. So I would just let her hear it from her brother- and let her believe or disbelieve at her own discretion. And if she asks you straight out- better tell her the truth.
