marketgems.com On a day like today you have to be careful with too much shorting. Its easier to just enjoy the long positions and short at that spike high and cover at the doldrums or at a move below the 20 period moving average. Then put in a buy stop above the consolidation for a "Play It Again Sam" trade. We are more apt to short junk like ONIS rather than CSCO. NUFO falls in the middle. We were long this week we went short

Jenna, I agree with you. While I worry about the networkers a bit because of the JDSU inventory mtg next week, I think the selling pressure will abide (at least somewhat) for next week.

As I have stated here many times over the last week or two... If we do get a rise next week and even on Jan.2, I then may very well go short as I expect earnings warnings to intensify from Jan. 3 on.

You can't predict, but you can do "If this happens, then..."
