Pat,

Saying the others will have trouble because LU had trouble is flawed logic

I didn't say that, neither did Cramer. All it takes these days is fear of a blowup, unwaranted or not.

We are to market manipulators as flies to wanton boys. . .

So true. When in Pamplona you run with the crowd.

I'll be damned if I'm going to bail...

No problem with that but why let the short-term gyrations bother you if you're really a long-term investor?

Pat, what is fair value in your opinion for JDSU? I keep hearing "this is priced in", "that is priced in". But, every bit of negative press drives the price continually lower. The PE compression going on is quite amazing. If the stock settles in at its longer term growth rate, say 30-35%, we could see a price at 25-30. And if they miss an upcoming quarter, they could fall to the teens. I think the problem so many people are having is that the stock should never have been in the 100's in the first place. Only a mania put it there. Yes, the business is healthy. Even if a quarter is missed slightly, the business is still healthy. The problem is, the stock price may even still be disconnected from the business. -- Gary

They kill us for their sport.

Aaaarrrggghhhhhhh

Thank you for your sound analysis and confidence in the long term, however.

All the best to the thread for the holidays.

You know what is sick? I have a 20x position in JDSU/sdli, but it wasn't acting well this am....sdli had slipped to 160 after being at 170, so I shorted 10x because I was afraid of getting creamed again while everything else I had was kicking ass. Then I went back to sleep(I am in Kauai...its early).I wake up and the goddamn thing is at 138, so i cover and buy some june jdsu 40 calls at 11-12.

I have never seen a market where trend trading works better. This is a total casino lately, it is really sick. It certainly undermines my confidence that sanity wll return anytime soon, when everything is based on going with the crowd right now.
