Jeff,

I'd say at least 95% of the time if you lose your connection to IB it is because of internet connectivity problems somewhere between you and IB. It rarely happens that IB disconnects you for some reason. It's a good idea to have some sort of trace program to make a quick check when it happens. I lost connection 3 or 4 times today, and in every case it was a problem with my ISP, or their connection to the internet. I switched ISPs and had no further problems.
