Jim and all, just did a little shopping for a new system for my folks. Seems like most systems out there for sale are either P3, Celeron, or P4. Pentium 4 systems are everywhere, but with the current $2000+ price tags, they're mainly for show.

However, one P4 system was set up as a demo with this NASCAR game and a steering wheel controller. And this game had some of the SMOOTHEST, most beautiful graphics I have ever seen in a PC game (and I've seen a lot of PC games out there). Like I said before, this system is a regular "gee whiz" show-n-tell. But hopefully this demo is a sign of good things to come in 2001.

P.S. - Most people I've talked to know more about Pentium 4 than Athlon. Seems the Jimmy Mac theory of "MHz [GHz] sells" still holds, at least to a degree.
