Not an act of God, but sometimes of Government.

How liable can a company be when they provide a product required by and approved by the government? Auto airbags for instance, which have recently been modified to open variably with a particular load factor or even be turned off if no one is occupying that seat. This is the result of some deaths from a one-rate explosive deployment. Is the car and/or airbag mfgr then liable for the resulting deaths and injuries or is the government at equal fault?

I grant you that there are not as many good faith errors made as there are deliberate shortcuts, etc to enhance the bottom line, but there are some.
