I was interested in spread trading the current and 3 months out t-bonds. I looked at this a few years ago. I thought I detected enough differential during the day to make a modest but fairly safe
profit.


you would need to be sitting on the bid and ask and able
to anticipate the big moves, very hard to do if you are not
an institution.

you could try trading the yield curve, say the 10 year
note against the long bond, etc, that will move in trends,
but requires some studying.
