OT, as not pure GG'ing---

Hi Bruce,

(And I better quit this OT'ing soon, else I may invite (and
be deserving of) uf's famous "PI" signoff.) <g>

I find it interesting that you will follow what Brinker
says, but would not hold him accountable by doing so.

Slight correction of what I said: I'll hold Brinker
accountable (by no longer subscribing and no longer
following his calls) if it's clear after several years
that he's hurting rather than helping me. But, if he
continues to make his mostly good calls (particularly the
big long term ones (e.g. MOABO) which involve the big $$$
commitments and for which his track record is so good), then
I won't blame him if a particular call - such as the current
QQQ call - goes against me. No timer (and no stock picker) is perfect.

Wouldn't it be worth your time as an investor to develop
your own plan and study the micro and macro issues of the
economy so you know what kind of balanced portfolio you
need for your retirement needs?

Maybe it would, and maybe not. But, in a way, I HAVE
developed my "own plan"; it's to use the methods of G. Moore
(as modified by some on this wonderful board) for stock
picking for LTBH), and the calls of B. Brinker (as modified
by me and with influences of others) for timing. Given the
amount of time I have chosen to devote to my investments, I
am not able to do the DD necessary to pick stocks without
help from others, and I have neither the time nor the
financial background to study the fundamentals and
technicals necessary to do my own timing.

I'm using an approach that, I think, meets my needs -
balancing investment success versus time spent. For now,
I'm happy with it.

Thanks for a stimulating discussion, and Happy Holidays to
you and yours.
