InfoStream,

Speaking as a California consumer who's pretty power conservative in his daily habits, I think it should be PG&E's and Edison's shareholders and management that get hurt. Particularly the latter. The failure to secure long term contracts or hedge with futures with such a long foreseen sea change in their operating environment coming, was simply a horrible business decision. But I'm talking through my hat. I can't say I've looked into it deeply. All I can say is I like APWR in the low 20s. As for bubble, you're right. But all it would take is an escalation of hostility in the Middle East to blow an even bigger one.

Cheers, Tuck

Oil & Gas Fundamentals and Analysis

InfoStream: There is a good bit of fundamental data and analysis on supply and demand in the oil & gas industry on the "Strictly Drilling and Oil-field Services" thread. Natural gas prices and the California energy crisis have both been discussed at length in the last few weeks. It's a fairly fast moving thread, so it's a little hard to read on a regular basis unless you make a significant effort to keep current, but it's great place for research if you know how to use the search function to narrow down to specific topics. Take a look if you are interested.
