If one is "liberal" in one's views, then one cannot, by definition, also be a "bigot." The terms are opposite in meaning. By the definition I provided of the adjective "bigoted," an "illiberal attitude" is required to be a bigot.

Re: "that is a bit of bigotry right there ..." Not correct. Attitude defines bigotry, not indiscretions.

You say, "I also think it is very common for liberals to claim bigotry and racism without seeing their own indiscretions." You could argue that such claims by liberals are hypocritical, but people who wish to expand the scope of "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness" for everyone, regardless of religion, race or economic status, cannot be called a "bigot" in any sense of the word.
