Whoever said the Dems wanted to "work together"? I would offer you this: They will work as closely with GWB as DeLay and Armey and Lott worked with Clinton. There. Fair enough? How long do you think this spirit of harmony is going to last? I'm not counting days, I'm counting hours after the swearing-in on 1-21. Actually, Ish, I kind of like GWB's style. He's got a dog, dresses on weekends like a steelworker/cowboy and slaps everybody on the back ... Greenspan, Ashcroft ... even "Slim" Whitman. He's a goober but his heart's probably in the right place. Too bad the attack dogs like DeLay and Barr and Burton and Lott ... and the majority on the USSC ... poisoned the waters for him, politically speaking. As far as this "for the good of the country" stuff ... there aren't all that many pressing issues. We ain't at war; China hasn't invaded Taiwan, there are plenty of jobs out there if you want to work ... four years of gridlock doesn't look so bad to me.
