I certainly hope they put an excessive amount of their political capital into this. If I were Bush, I'd trade support for this for their support in whatever crucial areas I could pry loose from them. Pass an amendment, let it go to the states, AND IT WILL NEVER BE SEEN AGAIN!!! Just another golden opportunity a president gets when the two sides are this close. And, to boot, it will begin the long and necessary process of deconstructing the Hillary myth, something I believe at least half the Senate Democrats consider crucial, also...
