Neither to me. Just got back and I wasn't impressed. As you said, today seemed easier. The local Wal-Mark, ( Not the one in Boise) was about 50% full and I was eyeballing other people's stuff in the checkout. Mostly cheap stuff, not much in the way of big ticket items. All the HWP computeres they had on the shelf were still there frm a few days ago, none sold. No sold out shelves that I saw other than a few household kitchen type items such as steamers, mini grills etc.

I went across the street to K-mart and I don't want to seem snobbish but the people in there didn't look like they could afford much more than a six pack of coke. Most were buying cheap costume jewellry and videos as gifts. Almost every car in the lot was at least 15 years old and had been in a few accidents. No big mark ups for margins in that store. I talked with one of the clerks and they said that the 24 hour thing was a total shock and un-expected. They are working 12 hour shifts to cover it and at night it is dead.

Note where I live it is mostly cattle herders, small business workers etc. and prices were bad last year for live stock. Boise has higher paying jobs with a lot of HWP and MU workers as well as a few tech start ups etc. They have to be sweating these times out unless they are blind. Most of the housing areas in Boise are brand new and I doubt many of them have ANY equity in their homes.

Good Luck,

Lee
