pearly,

I don't see the production of hi-tech weaponry as all bad. I think we need a good defense and don't feel that wanting a good defense for our country is inconsistent with my belief in Christ. I don't place my hope or trust in these. There are many teachings I could point to in the NT, but don't want to bore folks here ...

What bothers me is that waste of money and the "license to steal" that some folks in the industry seemed to think they had. My boss thought nothing about doing anything in a cost-effective manner. He was solely focused on winning large $$ contracts not on providing effective weapons or defenses. That's what really irked me -- along with the machismo they all associated with doing secret work.

Nations rise and fall -- in a larger context I don't see other folks as enemies or the US as superior culturally, spiritually or in any other way -- rather blessed at this time ... When I see things like bumper stickers: "hungry?? Eat your import" or any such stuff as that I laugh -- like people in other countries don't need to eat as well?

tippet
