Scumbria,

If you do any work in X apps, and don't wish to purchase Hummingbird's Exceed product, try the following:

uk.research.att.com

VNC is an excellent solution that has a slim client (windows) client and can work via a browser (java capable) as well.

I have got serveral engineers using it as they can disconnect from running simulations and attach from another machine. Much like Windows terminal server for X. It's not as fast as a native X server, but it's really great for laptop users needing X windows access - moving from office to conference rooms and constantly having to kill all their xterms.

It actually works in both directions, i.e. you can serve your X desktop, or you can serve your Windows desktop to another client. It's much slower than MSFT's terminal server, but it's free.
