most important investment idea for yr 2000:

1) buy n' hold works for bull markets.. trading (not necessarily daytrading) works for ALL markets..

however, there is not guarantee that trading will be profitable for you.. you still have to know what you're doing.

I actually respected bear markets from my friends in Hong kong who are still hurting from the asian crisis.

2) Chart reading is still the best. Don't believe in the hype.. The DOW 40,000 book, magazines, etc.... I firmly believe that analyzing stocks using charts is THE BEST way to go.

3) SURVIVAL.. many I know are "done" with the market because of *high use of margin* without stop outs, and high specualtion methods.
