By the by ... I noticed that despite the relative depressed prices for networkers & fibre-optic co's, the 24th & 25th December showed 144 filings to sell for a whole bunch of them such as CIEN, FNSR, AVCI, NUFO, ONIS, EXTR, SCMR ... fwiw ...

I disagree Stephen. As the FED lowers rates, I think the market will begin to ignore the bad news. I think this is particularly so for the lower PE techs...INTC, ORCL, and TXN, etc... I think it is the shorts who are expecting these stocks to react who will blink and techs will continue to rally. We should have reactions but I think most have seen their lows. Just my opinion.
