I don't know. I know Pascal was what was taught at college
level for a long time. I'm not up on the history of the
federal AP standards. I just figured it was set
pre-internet, is way less relevant nowadays and is an
insane first language to teach kids, in any case. Of
course, Java has similar conventions, but is way more
relevant, portable and object oriented from the ground up
(as opposed to C++ being just an object oriented 'C' hack).

I'm happy for the kids in any case, and of course even
happier for myself as a SUNW shareholder. <g>
