Sassicaia 1996 $ 105.00 (got it @ discount place) and it is the real stuff as the flavor IS the real thing. Do not misunderstand me as the wine was smooth and very drinkable, yes, the oak was there. The reason I asked was because the Ornellaia seemed to be just a little better. (which I drank first). By no means a "bad" wine either of them at all. The Ornellaia was also 1996 and superb ! full bodied & smooth.

Easily, these wines could keep for years to come, but they are very agreeable. Particularly, the Sassicaia could be benefited by more time in te bottle. as it seem the fuller bodied of the two.

Perhaps, The Sassicaia needed more time to breath (I opened both 20-30 minutes before dinner).
