Re: Sold your AMD shares yet?

Considering that AMD can supply over 30% of the market from 1.5 FABs (half of Austin is used for other purposes), and that the FABs Intel has been building are larger than AMD's FABS (8K vs. 6K wafers per week), Intel needs one or 1.5 FABs to satisfy any conceivable need (especially considering they are already in an overcapacity situation without any new FABs).

So it's clear that Intel will be paying for all those new FABs, but what isn't clear is what they'll be able to do with them.

Looks like Intel has screwed up its planning once again.

All those new costs limit how low they can price their CPUs and remain in business. AMD's low cost operation will do very well in a harsh competitive environment, Intel's high cost operation is in trouble.
